So I mentioned about optimizing your website through backlinks. The next evolution is to do this in various web properties. Today I’m going to speak on Web 2.0 properties.
Search engines like themes when linking. They like that a marketing firm has a link from a marketing blog. While you should certainly participate on blogs on forums, having Web 2.0 properties can also help you.
Web 2.0 properties are blogs such as Twitter, Tumblr, and Wordpress. Others are like mini websites such as Squidoo or Weebly. Each has their place in the world and you should research these and many others.
For this example I’m going to use Tumblr, what we’re reading right now. Now I’m working on Charlotte Search Engine Optimization. I’m focused on 5 primary keywords that I wish to rank. I’ve done my due diligence and have themed pages on the website for my keywords. Now I need some themed properties pointing to it.
My discussion on here is going to be about internet marketing primarily geared toward Charlotte SEO and Charlotte Search Engine Optimization. Google will understand that’s the “theme” of this website as I write these post. Within these discussion I will provide a few anchor text and tags to reiterate my theme for this post.
For Tumblr I’ll keep writing, preferable everyday, and continue doing the anchor text and tags. Each property you create, you should work on periodically. It will be to overwhelming to work on all of them all the time. Just go to each property once per month. Work on theming a few pages, it won’t take long. Then be done, move on.

So the second type of backlink is commenting on a blog. This is where you find blogs that are about your websites subject and you comment on their blog post. Sounds simple enough right? Not so fast.
Blogs are owned by people and people care how they are seen by the world. A blog is an extension of an individual so they will nurture it with care. It’s hard enough to craft a reply with your keyword in it. Having the blogger approve it is something else.
My suggestion, actually get involved. Provide good feedback for whatever subject you’re discussing. Preferable reply to an issue or question that someone else has brought up in the post.
As you get rolling, you’ll find ways to put up your anchor text keyword in and because it’s good content, the owner of the blog will allow it.
So I’m reporting to you what I’m learning about optimization as I’m going through the process. I spoke about onsite optimization as an overview. I’ll certainly go into more detail as I work out all the bugs. Today I want to discuss offsite optimization.
Offsite optimization is the hardest, best thing you can do for your website. It’s going out within the online community and interacting with similar themed website and obtaining links pointing back to your site.
So far I’ve learned of 3 distinct ways to do this, though I’m certain I’ll find many more. You can find backlinks through commenting on blogs, signatures on forums, and literally building what are called Web 2.0 properties, like this one!
So once you found your website you need to target your link. You do this through anchor text like this Charlotte SEO Firm. You need the anchor text so that the search engines can theme this link to one of your keywords, thus helping your ranking.
Now certainly this sounds very simple and it’s not since humans own web properties and not everyone will allow a link. But for now, I’ll continue putting out anchor text like Charlotte SEO Firm throughout the web trying to get as many backlinks as possible right now, which stands at 10! I’ll dive deeper into this discussion of backlinking another time.

So we’ve chosen the keywords and now we want to target these keywords. Because it’s a lot of work to just do one keyword, I’m going to limit myself to the following:
- Charlotte Search Engine Optimization
- Charlotte SEO
- Charlotte SEO Company
- Charlotte SEO Firm
- Charlotte SEO Services
The first thing you want to do is make sure pages are created around each one of these keywords. A page should have a good “theme”. If the subject for instance is based around Charlotte SEO, then the body of the text should also be based around Charlotte SEO. Now please remember, people read bots do not. Let me empasize this, People Read Bots Do Not.
So when you’re writing please be concious of who your true audience is. Here is an example of good/bad content:
Charlotte SEO is the best Charlotte SEO service that you can get when looking for Charlotte SEO.
When considering a company for online service,Google Charlotte SEO. Who ever is ranked high for Charlotte SEO knows how to perform proper service and can certainly help you with your needs.
I’m certain you already see the difference.

So I’ve been working at Web Full Circle for a little over 2 years. I’m constantly learning new things outside of our sales process. My latest project is working on Charlotte Search Engine Optimization.
It was a website created basically for me to try my hand at working on optimizing a website and getting high ranking.
The first thing I have learned is about choosing the right keywords. You need to look for keywords that people are looking for and then target them within your campaign.
The easiest way to do this is to use Google’s Keyword Tool and just start playing around the different keywords that would be pertinent to your company.Being an Charlotte SEO Firm we got words such as Charlotte SEO and Charlotte Search Engine Optimization.
Make a list of the keywords you want to target and I’ll discuss what to do in my next post.

Please check out my new website that I’m trying to optimize. Thanks in advance.
So I’m doing a ton of reading and trying to apply what I’ve read.
The easiest one for me thus far is the gym. I’ve read that you must maintain good health to really be effective in what you do in business. I’m making a conscious effort to go to the gym as often as I can. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook I’m sure you can attest that it’s pretty often.
My other big thing is to connect good people with good people. I’m not sure why this has been a struggle but thus far in my career it has. So today I arranged for two of my friends to meet. Surprisingly they don’t know each other but they are good at networking and understand the “go-giver” mentality. I’m hoping this will be a success so that I can understand better what to do.
God love my friend. While I help him with closing deals, he has been very helpful on working in corporate America.
Today’s lesson, planning your week.
What he’s taught me and I’ve been implementing for a few weeks now is taking time out on Sunday for an hour to plan the upcoming week. Weather it’s to finish off the proposal you know is due Thursday or get prepared for that 9am meeting Monday.
Boy Scouts says be prepared and it’s worked for me every time I’ve implemented it. I’m sure some of you already prepare on Sunday, however, if you haven’t it makes that week so much easier and less stressful.
So I’m reading this excellent book called Rain Making by Ford Harding. I honestly bought this book on the fly by being recommended to purchase a rain making book of some sort. I have not gotten far in this book but I have to say so far so good. It’s bringing a lot of “aha!” to light. One of the big ones for me cementing good relationships.
I’m still in the process of learning how to network well. It’s very easy to meet tons of people and waste your time. Not because of the people you meet, but your inability to categorize and plan how you are going to work with these new individuals.
This year, I want to strength the relationships I already have. I was speaking with one friend/colleague and explaining how I know so much about him and how comfortable I feel speaking about him with strangers. I want this with more people. I have a decent group now that know me fairly well, I want to make those relationships better. This is my resolution I suppose, 25 days late, hehe.
So my friend has been telling me over and over you can’t help others until you help yourself. Being of raised within the church, being selfless was ingrained in me. Though I think I take it to far.
How can you donate time or money to organizations or friends if you don’t make any? I’ve learned this lesson the hard way last week but it’s a good lesson to learn.
Work hard, take care of yourself first and foremost. If you do so, you’ll have the time, energy, and money to take care of the other things, like friends and family. I’m sure fathers are sitting out there saying “duh!” however, I’m just learning this.
So now I’m going to better myself, and when I meet the right person, I’ll be ready to help her every step of the way.
